The Elementor plugin revolutionized the field of website building. It is a plugin for an open source system called WordPress, which is a content management system (CMS).

What do you need Elementor for?

The Elementor plugin allows for easy and quick construction using the “drag and drop” method, meaning you select the desired widget from the sidebar and drag it to the Elementor interface, which is built in a very simple and easy preview format.
Until a few years ago, building websites was less convenient and simple than it is today.
Adding content to the site was done by manually writing code using a programming language (for example: HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, etc.).
Handwriting would slow down the programmer in developing the website, but today it is possible to build a website quickly and professionally in a much shorter time.

Widgets in Elementor

Elementor and Hello Elementor design templates

All pages and posts can be edited using Elementor with any WordPress theme.
Non-editable parts in WordPress are the static parts of the design template, for example: the top part (Header), the bottom part (Footer), and so on.

Similar to the regular version, all pages and posts can be edited using Elementor, but you can use a simple design template developed by Elementor called Hello Elementor, which is unique compared to other templates in that its settings are minimal and its structure is simple and clean.

Elementor Library

The Elementor Library is a function that only exists in the Elementor Pro plugin. The library contains over 300 ready-made templates built exclusively for Elementor. There are many Elementor developers who build the site using the templates that Elementor offers in its library and make adjustments and edits to the selected template.

Pop-Up Elementor

Elementor’s pop-up templates are only available in the Elementor Pro plugin, the pop-up templates are built similarly
For editing a regular page or post using Elementor, but the difference between them is the ability to customize the display size of the page, meaning if I want the pop-up to be in the center of the page and its height to be about 50%
From the height of the surfer’s screen, I can do this in the pop-up settings in my Elementor.
There are 3 unique settings in the Elementor pop-up template:
1. Display Conditions allows us to define where we want
That the pop-up will appear throughout WordPress.
2. Triggers allows us to define which parameters will trigger our pop-up, such as: hovering over a specific area on the site, clicking a button, or activating by time, etc.
3. Advanced Rules allows us to define special functions such as additional settings for the pop-up, such as: displaying on certain devices, displaying after a certain number of times, displaying after viewing a certain number of pages, and so on.

Dynamic content

The dynamic content function is only available in the Elementor Pro plugin. This function allows some widgets that contain: content and links (title, text, etc.) to define dynamic content.
What is meant by dynamic content? Common options are: activating a pop-up, linking to an internal page, using data from the system (user’s first name, post ID number, etc.).
What is dynamic content needed for? Example: If you decide to change the entire link structure in WordPress and you have about 400 links scattered throughout the site and you have written them all as regular links, example: mydomain.co.il/category/my-category
If you use dynamic content, Elementor will automatically update all links containing dynamic content.
If you don’t use dynamic content, you will need to update all links manually or use an external plugin to change the links.

Elementor Forms

To create forms such as: contact forms, website login forms, newsletters, etc.
If we have the free version of Elementor, we will need to use an external plugin.
Elementor Pro has a form widget that allows you to easily build and design forms in WordPress.
There is another widget called Login where you can place a section for logging in to the site.

Elementor Integrations

If we want our Elementor to be able to integrate with other plugins, we will need
Use the pro version of Elementor.
Elementor can work in conjunction with several plugins: MailChimp, ActiveCampaign, ConvertKit, HubSpot, Drip using API keys that can be configured in the Elementor plugin settings in WordPress.

Custom CSS

When we develop a new website, there are certain parts of Elementor that do not allow editing in the sidebar, neither in the regular Elementor version nor in the premium (Pro) version, so we will sometimes need to add commands in CSS, which is the language responsible for the design and appearance of the website.
In any WordPress system, you can add custom CSS using the design template (in the customization settings of the design template), but in the Elementor Pro version, you can add the commands in additional settings of the desired widget or section, thus creating order in the commands and a more comfortable work environment.

In conclusion

There are significant advantages to the Elementor plugin over other plugins.
The notable advantage of Elementor Pro (Premium) is that it reduces the use of additional plugins and gives us, within the framework of one plugin, options that previously existed in several plugins, thus saving us from using WordPress resources and centralizing all the options under one roof.
There is no doubt that Elementor Pro is the best plugin among all the competing plugins, and in my opinion, this plugin will continue to grow and develop greatly.
